What is Premature Ejaculation?
Premature ejaculation or PE is a male sexual dysfunction which is often found in young males. Basically, premature ejaculation means ejaculation before you are ready – or before you want it. There is no such time limit that would describe ejaculation as premature – unless it occurs before you want it to occur.
For example, if the man ejaculates within five minutes but his partner has had enough foreplay to enjoy the five minute long intercourse the ejaculation time is okay. However, if the ejaculation occurs after five minutes of intercourse, yet neither the man not his partner are really there in terms of sexual satisfaction – then this is termed as premature ejaculation.
In other words, PE is when ejaculation occurs before the man and his sexual partner has the opportunity to achieve sexual satisfaction out of the intercourse.
There are two types of premature ejaculation disorders – (i) primary and (ii) secondary. The primary premature ejaculation is when the male has never had real control over it right from the time he became sexually active. The secondary premature ejaculation is when the male had enjoyed normal sexual life and then developed the disorder sometime later.
There are many things that can cause temporary premature ejaculation as it is with temporary impotency. You might be having sex after a long time; you might be having sex while seeing a pornographic movie which excites you beyond your capacity; you might be smoking or drinking heavily before the intercourse, and so on.
